GROUP: THE SHOW began with a provocation:
What would a work of art that parodies your own practice look like?
Twelve brave artists responded. Their responses are recorded on the walls of Art/Space 114 as GROUP: THE SHOW.
The show’s installation and its opening night will be filmed as part of a larger mockumentary project. Each artist will “play” a heightened version of themselves or a semi-constructed character for the duration of the shoot.
The resulting film will ultimately explore how individuals craft/perform their own identity, and what it ultimately means to be an artist.
GROUP: THE SHOW is curated by Lily Lady and features work by Shamon Cassette, Canyon Castator, Michael Krim, Liz Lee, Michelle Jane Lee, Nikki Ochoa, Sophie Roessler, Ari Salka, Griffen Silbey, Benjamin Weissman, Marley White, and Jeanie Yoo.
Lily Lady is a multidisciplinary artist from New York City. Their books are quickie (2022), NDA (2024), and Blood Brother (2026). Lily’s first feature film is Sam’s World, available on most major streaming services. This is their first foray into curation.
